Learn To Draw - Bird

Goal

This blog post guides you through the steps of drawing on the paint doodler. At the end of exercise you should be able to draw a simple sketch.
In this exercise you will learn

• Dynamic and Static Canvas features 
• Use of bezier, line, circle and pencil tool 
• How to save canvas

Time to complete

Approximately 30 min

Prerequisite

• Understanding of the paint doodler user interface. Kindly visit user interface tutorial at http://paintdoodler.blogspot.co.uk/p/paint-doodler-user-interface.html if you are new to this website.
• Understanding of canvas layers. Kindly visit canvas layers description at http://paintdoodler.blogspot.co.uk/p/canvas-layers.html if you are new to the website.

How to draw a bird

Tools Icon- 

- Circle - Straight Line  - Bezier Curve  - Pencil

Step 1 – Lo-gin to Paint Doodler by typing paint.paintdoodler.com in your chrome browser and clicking icon for one of the face book website.

Step 2 – Setup you canvas as shown in image below.

Step 3 – Create head and body of your bird.

Select a dynamic canvas by going on the layers tab in your navigator box. Active canvas will be high

Create the head 

o Click on the circle icon from the toolbox. Set appropriate size from the top control box.
o Select appropriate color from the toolbox.
o Double click on the canvas to place on the canvas.
o Drag the birds head by clicking on the circle and dragging it over holding the mouse left button down.
o Resize using position controls from the control box on top or dragging the selection handles.

Create the body

o Select the line tool to draw the shoulder.
o Select the Bezier tool to draw the body.

Draw the wings

Click on the circle icon from the toolbox. Set appropriate size from the top control box.
o Select appropriate colour from the toolbox.
o Set quadrant angle to 190 using control box
o Double click on the canvas to place on the canvas.
o Set rotation angle from the control box to position the wings.
o Use combination of Bezier and line tools to draw the wings.

Draw Branches

Select the static canvas from the layer tab. Selected canvas will be highlighted in orange color.

• Click on the pencil 
• Click on the pencil tool from the toolbox.
• Select appropriate colour using colour tool on the toolbox. 
• Select appropriate size of pencil from the top control box. 
• Drag mouse with mouse left button click to draw.

Application Overview

Doodle Paint is a full featured paintingand image editing platform providing users with versatile collection of toolsand enabling users to contribute to ever growing community of doodlers with newfeatures through plug-in. 

The app has two types drawing canvas staticand dynamic both modes support undo and redo features. It allows you to add asmany canvas of each type.

Login

The app provides login thorough socialnetworking site  Facebook.In future user will be able to login through there google+ or twitter acount.

Reset Tool

Click on the reset icon from the tool bx   toclear any selected images or  active tools.

Canvas Management

The app provides with easy to use interfaceto perform  the following

1. Move any canvas layer up/down. 
2. Add/ Delete/Duplicate canvas.
3. Merge canvas with the layer below or all canvas.
4. Select drawing canvas layer.

Static Drawing Canvas (Brush Canvas)

In this type of drawing canvas you have theability to perform the following

1. Draw using various type of draw brushes with the ability to uses various level of softness, opacity and different variety of textures and patterns.
2. Draw using smudge and stamp tools with various levels of opacity.
3. Selection through wide variety of  resizable shapes (rectangle, eclipse, polygon ) and magic wand tool.
4. Apply various filters and image adjustments.
5. Cut, Copy, Paste.
6. Erase.
7. Fill canvas with paint fill tool.
8. Zoom in/ Zoom out

Dynamic Drawing Canvas (Image Canvas)

In this type of drawing canvas you  have the ability to move, resize, transform  shapes and images around the canvas.  It provides you with the ability to performthe following activities.

1. Draw various type shapes like polygon, eclipse, rectangle   various level of softness, opacity and different variety of textures and patterns.
2. Draw different types of lines like Straight an d Bezier.
3. Add images from file system or from web url .
4. Move and transform shapes.
5. Add text to rectangle shape with different variety font styles.
6. With ability to create add, delete and duplicate shapes.
